It used to be a common belief that hormone imbalance and menopause in women started after the age of 50.

However, recent studies show that many women in their thirties are experiencing the beginning of hormone imbalance and its disorders.

Some of the symptoms of hormone imbalance are depression, extreme fatigue, facial hair growth, hair loss, allergies, weight gain, insomnia, premenstrual tension, osteoperosis and other symptoms.

These symptoms become worse if the initial stages are ignored.

The main reason of these symptoms is that there's an imbalance in the progesterone and estrogen levels in a woman's body.

These two hormones must work together in a balanced way and if there's any changes in the balance, the above-mentioned symptoms will occur.

The hormones produced by a woman's body vary each month and depend on factors such as nutrition, excercise, stress, ovulation, contraceptive tablets, above average consumption of animal products and poor diet.

If a woman has an estrogen imbalance, she will have symptoms such as exhaustion and extreme tiredness, lack of libido, joint pains, irregular periods, depression, anxiety and mood swings.

The syptoms of low estrogen is considered normal when it happens in menopausal women. However, when these symptoms take place in young women, it would indicate premature ovarian failure and the sufferer should seek treatment because it might lead to other problems.

Signs of high estrogen in women are obesity, high blood pressure and poorly controlled diabetes.

Signs of high progesterone levels are excessive sleepiness, bloating, spotting and lower resistance to infections.

Signs of low progesterone levels are low blood sugar, water retention, weight gain, depression, anxiety, throid problems and fibrocystic breasts.

Hormonal imbalance symptoms of low androgen in women could mean lower sex drive, vaginal dryness, and feelings of tiredness and being unw

High androgen levels in women would cause acne, excessive hair on arms and face and could result in infertility. High androgen levels would also lead to the cessation of menstruation and result in high cholesterol and waight gain.

To best method of manage the hormonal imbalance is to undertake Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT).

HRT provides relief from all these symptoms and the discomfort and provides the necessary levels of estrogen that the body needs. It also promotes bone growth and prevents the development of osteoporosis. It also fights the psychological symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood swings, hot flushes, insomnia and other symptoms.

However, HRT has also disadvantages. It can increase the risk of vein thormbosis and varicose veins. Also, the high dose of estrogen in HRT might lead to instances of breast and ovarian cancers.

HRT can also increase the risk of strokes and heart diseases, and in some cases increases the instances of depression, anxiety, bloating and fluid retention.

Hormone imbalance can be treated through natural ways if the symptoms are not too severe. There are many choices open to women to treat the symptoms naturally without resorting to HRT programs. Such as a healthy lifestyle that includes regular excercise, consuming natural foods, taking vitamins and mineral supplements, developing good sleeping habits. All that will greatly aid in the relief of the menopause symptoms.
